Together, Unidentified and Miracle (screening August 25) make up the first two-thirds of an uncompleted, loose trilogy. Both deal with a small town in Romania, overlapping characters, and the dramatic, sometimes shocking, lengths they will go to to achieve their goals. Unidentified follows obsessed police detective Florin (Bogdan Farcas) as he relentlessly pursues a case that no one seems to want solved. Despite being hounded by creditors and told to leave the case alone, Florin has a personal reason to continue his investigation. Skirting the line between detection and coercion, Florin’s actions may lead him to be the subject of his own investigation.
