Scope & Contents: Title on scrapbook: "A Record of Photography by Lewis W. Hine from 1905-1939. Showing Some of the Uses Made of them and Critical Appreciation of Them." The scrapbook dates from 1905 to 1956 and comprises clippings and articles about Hine's work in the early part of the twentieth century. Articles and clippings are from The Mentor, Homestead, Coronet, Magazine of Art, The Studio (London), Survey, U.S. Camera, and Literary Digest, among others. Most articles are illustrated with Hine's photographs. Some articles are adhered to pages, others have come loose from the page, and some are laid in. A 1956 New York Times Magazine article is laid in the front of the scrapbook, presumably by the donor or the George Eastman Museum upon transfer.
